Tips for Creating Your Wedding Announcements
The wedding announcement is the first thing your guests are going to see in order to learn about your special day. Make sure the announcements are not just a basic who, where and when; make them a sneak peek into the ceremony. Be sure they are truly special and eye- catching so your guests are as excited about your wedding as you are! Here are some tips for your wedding announcements…

Order Early
Try to order your invitations as soon as your guest list is final; about three to four months before the wedding day. Also when ordering, purchase twenty or thirty extra just in case.

Include All Information for Guests
Act as if your invitation is an instruction manual for your guests. Include all the information they will need; names of wedding hosts, bride and groom's names, weekday, date, time, address of location and RSVP information.

Cut Costs
Prices depend on the kind of invites you order. They can range from $1 to $50 depending on paper, ink, and decoration. To cut costs, keep the invites simple, and keep them small so the postage cost is low. Instead of working with paper boutiques, look online or use mail- order outlets, which will help your wallet!

Think Ahead
When the invites are being printed, see if you can bring the envelopes home so you can get a head start on addressing them.

Be Cautious
Inquire if the post office can hand cancel each invitation so they can stay in tip-top shape. If they are run through the stamp machine they may become crumpled and messy.

Thank You Notes
Make sure to do yourself a favor and keep your guest list. When you are opening all your gifts make a note next to the name on the list to make your thank you cards that much easier.

Mailing Time
If you are having a destination wedding or marrying over the holidays send out invites early (10 to 12 weeks before wedding day). For local weddings the standard time is six to eight weeks before the event.
